The CUAT Committee continues to work hard on several projects.  Here are just a few.

1. The Specialty Session in Baltimore on Advocacy was well attended and great information was given on advocating for your student-athlete, advocating for your position at your institution and advocating for yourself.

2. In June, Randy Cohen (Associate AD for Medical Services at University of AZ) and Jamie DeRollo (Head Athletic Trainer at Modesto Junior College) presented to a full room of community college Athletic Directors from across the country at the NATYCAA conference in Dallas, TX.  The topics included the medical model for athletic training and how if that model is not feasible at your institution there are steps you can take to try to simulate the medical model.  Policies and procedures were discussed and the importance of having such items in place prior to an incident.  Appropriate medical care and BOC facility standards were also touched on.  There was great discussion at the close of the presentation with great questions that were asked by the ADs.

3.  The Appropriate Healthcare Summit co-sponsored by the NATA and NCAA will be held in January in Dallas prior to the Joint Committee Meeting.  There will be members from several different organizations meeting to make a collaborative document to identify what is necessary to provide healthcare services in 2016.

4. This years CUAT awards were very competitive with 44 nominees. The 2016 winners are:
