Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Kavin Tsang

Dr. Tsang earned his Ph.D. from Penn State University, University Park, PA and a M.S. from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA. His early athletic training experience was at University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu where he earned his B.Ed. Dr. Tsang is Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology (KNES) at CSU Fullerton. He has served as ATEP Program Director and Clinical Coordinator at California Lutheran University and Michigan State University.

Dr. Tsang serves as Chair of FWATA Quiz Bowl Co-coordinator, former Chair Research & Grants, and current committee member of the Education Program Committee.  Dr. Tsang is active within the NATA, where he serves as Chair of the Convention Program Committee and Research & Education Foundation Board of Directors, District 8 Chair.

Past awards include FWATA Special Recognition Award (2015); CSU Fullerton, Faculty Development Center Service Award (2012).

Kris Boyle-Walker presented Kavin Tsang, PhD, ATC, FWATA’s Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award.

“Kavin’s service to FWATA has been extensive and he has represented FWATA on the District and National level with integrity and distinction,” Kris said. “I respect and admire Kavin tremendously. He is a very humble man and serves his profession and professional organization as he feels it is his duty as a member.”

“My sincerest mahalo to everyone in D8 for the MDAT recognition. It is truly an honor to serve and represent our membership; I hope to continue with this privilege as we move forward as a district in advancing and promoting our profession. Aloha” says Kavin.
