Hawaii Heart Foundation and Kaiser Permanente sponsored a free heart screening on November 2, 2013 at Moanalua High School. About 150 males and females from ages 14-22 participated. Local athletic trainers and athletic training students from Japan helped a Japanese running club with evaluations, pre and post race treatment, taping, massaging and icing during the Honolulu Marathon which took place on December 8th. On November 19th, athletic trainers from the Oahu Interscholastic Association collaborated for the weight-monitoring program of the 2013-2014 wrestling season. Hydration, measured by urine specific gravity, weight and body fat, measured by skin fold assessment, were collected for each athlete in order to determine the safest weight class to compete.
