Girls on the Run Event at UNLV

In May, the Nevada Athletic Trainers’ Association (NEVATA) volunteered at a Girls on the Run Event at UNLV. EDAC Service Events at NATA

The Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee had two very successful service events during the FWATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium thanks to our wonderful volunteers. In collaboration with Be The Match, EDAC was able to recruit 30 new potential donors in person and another 30 online. In Memoriam: Longtime USC Athletics AT Jack Ward, 89

USC Athletic Trainer Jack Ward, who served as USC’s head athletic trainer for 39 years during his 46-year career with the Trojan athletic training staff, died on May 6 of natural causes in Palm Springs. He was 89. Ward was USC’s head athletic trainer for 38 years.  Ward came to USC in 1958 as an assistant athletic trainer before becoming head trainer in 1959, a role he held through 1997.…

9th Annual CATA Hit the Hill Day

Sacramento – The California Athletic Trainers Association hosted its 9th Annual Hit the Hill day on February 26th, 2018.  Despite adverse weather, there was a record number in attendance with 191 athletic trainers and AT students.  The high number of participants resulted in 112 meetings with California legislators, which meant that 96% of state legislators heard the message.
