Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer
Paul Alvarez PhD ATC
Paul has been involved with the athletic training profession for over 40 years. He has mentored numerous athletic trainers in his position at the University of La Verne. Tom Abdenour wrote this about Paul ” Paul is a consummate professional and dedicated to the advancement of our profession… there are three words that come to mind: advocacy, representation, and service”
Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer
Garvin Tsuji MS ATC
Garvin has been an athletic trainer for over 25 years, currently working at ‘Iolani School . He has served in many different roles with FWATA and in HATA. Junior Domingo states “without a leader like Garvin as a role model, many of us may not have served in the roles that we have in and out of the athletic training profession.”
Special Service Award
Sanam Rezazadeh MS ATC
Sanam serves as a staff athletic trainer at Stanford University and has served FWATA in a number of positions. Kris Boyle Walker has this to say about her “Sanam serves with passion. She brings her all to each role she serves. She is dedicated and has made an impact on the committees she has served on as well as on the athletic training profession as a whole.”
